I am Julia Tinker, the founder of Tinker’s Tasty Tidbits. I purchased my first freeze-drier as a means of preserving my garden harvest and a way to accumulate some items for short-term and long-term food storage. I soon realized the amazing benefits of freeze-drying over other means of food preservation such as; canning and dehydrating, which use high temperatures that destroy much of the nutritional integrity of your food.
